Wild rice, technically not real rice, still deserves a place on the dinner table as a delectable side dish.
Ingredients:
2 cups uncooked wild rice
2 (14-ounce) cans chicken broth
1 cup sliced mushrooms
½ cup finely chopped green onion
1 teaspoon dried thyme
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Directions:
1) Rinse wild rice; drain well.
2) Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker; mix well. Cover and cook on HIGH 4 hours, until wild rice is split and liquid is absorbed. Serve warm.
